Recognising Frontline Workers

By Bravinganth Thavarajah

The clock is ticking as if it is the big ben. You open your eyes as the breeze passes you. You run like you are a Lamborghini at full speed. By the time you get to the bus stop the bus drives away. You feel the pain. You never show it to the customers while serving. That is what makes you shine. You say those kind words which make the persons day cheerful. You say those words to make them happy, but only if others feel the pain.

You wait till the school is over. The fluorescent sunlight rises, and all the children are running home with cheer that is school is over. Your family is eagerly waiting for you to come home and spend time with them You put the gloves on and turn on the hoover. You wipe those desks and clean the dirt.

You stay until the sky gets dark and the round moon comes up, you wake up early in the morning just to turn on your Computer. Your eyes are burning but your hope never ends. Teaching all of them will never be the end.

You are in the hospital all night hoping it might not be someone’s last look at the glowing light. You are there risking your live to make others safe not even looking at your life. You workday and night, that is why we clap, we hope you can continue this and when this is all over you can have a nap.
