Life’s Puzzle

By Archana Sivananthama

Mother says, life’s a circle.
All the decisions you make affect your future
Untold tales combine with every emotion and feeling
Choices create consequences that sometimes are unimaginable.
Isn’t that how COVID came?
Stealing the life it captures
Vulnerable or vile, doesn’t matter
It just HAS to be human

One year on he can finally see his life clearly
Pieces of a mismatched puzzle slotting correctly
The puzzle of life slotting into the puzzle of humanity
That was when he realised
Nobody knows how their life can end
All our decisions end up affecting one another
That’s how such cruel viruses come for us
If we don’t let good pursue one another how will we stand together?
Let us work as one
Arguments are bound to come.
Just be patient.
Whatever you do don’t be selfish.
Let us work as one
Someday
Sometime
It’ll all go by…

One year passes –
Her year of fear
Her year of wonder
Their year of recognition
Their year where they realised the power of unity
Life is short
You’ve faced many decisions
Don’t go the fast way just because it benefits you
Don’t let your emotions and feeling overtake life’s meaning.
The meaning of life is to give life meaning
To give it power,
To give it all your emotions,
This is your life.
Your imperfection that you put your best into
Remember, you’ve got to keep trying.
No matter what,
Never give up.
